VIRTUALITY

-

Set in a future where virtual existence has become more desirable than reality, Virtuality explores a society shaped by corporate control, digital dependency, and manufactured perfection. As humanity retreats into an artificial world built for comfort and consumption, the boundaries between the physical and the virtual begin to dissolve. Beneath its flawless surface, rogue AIs, cyber terrorists, and collapsing systems expose the cost of abandoning reality in pursuit of a better one.

-

How can a familiar cyberpunk setting be reimagined through a tactile retro-futuristic visual language while making both reality and virtuality equally desirable?

Tactile Retro-Futurism

Inspired by the retro-futuristic visions of the 1970s and 80s, technology is designed to feel physical, mechanical, and tangible. Heavy hardware, exposed components, and industrial machinery replace invisible interfaces and seamless digital experiences.

Duality of Reality

Reality and Virtuality follow two opposing visual languages. The physical world is chaotic, layered, and imperfect, while the virtual world is clean, monumental, and carefully curated—making both worlds equally desirable for different reasons.

Mature Graphic Stylization

Rather than pursuing photorealism or traditional cyberpunk noir, the project adopts a bold, graphic visual language inspired by mature comics and stylized animation. Simplified forms, expressive textures, and deliberate composition create a world that feels distinctive without sacrificing believability.
